Green fingers at Greenfields
Tuesday 30 June 2015
The summer months are a busy and productive growing time for our Greenfields project in Lawrence Weston and as a result they have plenty of homegrown produce to offer.
Apple juice, freshly cut herbs, garden salad items, and various plants are among the goods grown onsite and available for customers to buy now from the garden next to the community farm in Saltmarsh Drive.
The team will even offer a mobile service, if required, taking fresh produce to offices and their staff during the week.
The project itself provides opportunities based around gardening and craft activities for older people with learning disabilities and has links with Blaise Castle and Easton Community Centre among others. Project leader Will Rollason said: "It’s great for getting active and being part of the community through the activities we offer. I’m convinced there are more people out there who would benefit from this service."
"We’d love more people to come and meet us, look round, see what we have to offer and have a chat."
