Brandon Trust Chief Executive steps down

Lucy Hurst-BrownOur Chief Executive, Lucy Hurst-Brown, has announced that she is stepping down from her position after eleven years.

Since her appointment in 2005, Lucy has relentlessly championed Brandon’s vision to see people with learning disabilities having the same freedoms and dreams as everybody else.

Under her leadership, the organisation has led a number of innovative firsts for the sector, including its flagship ‘100 Voices’ event. This annual conference, led by and for people with learning disabilities, has played a major part in informing the organisation’s strategy and how it develops its services.

She has also overseen Brandon’s extension into new areas, including supporting children with autism and learning disabilities.

Lucy said “It has been an honour to lead, grow and participate in an organisation over the last eleven and a half years that has consistently worked alongside and transformed the lives of people with learning disabilities for the better.

“While it is time for me personally to move on to new things, I know that the depth of energy, creativity and commitment of the workforce will continue this journey and I wish them all the very best.”

The Board of Trustees will begin the process of appointing a new Chief Executive in the new year. Rob Rowe, Brandon’s Director of People and Resources, has taken up the post in the interim to ensure the continued smooth running of the organisation.
