Feeling proud
Friday 16 January 2015

Phil HodgesToday is a really proud day for me, in fact one of the proudest days of my life, because tonight I’m heading to Stroud to attend the opening night of an exhibition. I actually feature in the exhibition which is called Twenty. It tells the story of 20 people Brandon Trust support whose lives have changed for the better within the last 20 years.

I haven’t been supported by Brandon for 20 years but they have been supporting people with learning disabilities for this long. The exhibition is part of their 20th birthday celebrations.

I was really pleased to have been approached to be part of Twenty. I was interviewed and a professional photographer came to take my photo. They made sure I was happy with the interview and photograph before using them. When I first saw the photograph blown up so big I was chuffed to bits! I have my own framed copy, not quite as big, hung on the living room wall in my flat.

It should be a good night. I’m bringing my partner Anna and I’ll be seeing some of my friends there, a couple of who also feature in the exhibition. Seeing myself in the exhibition and being invited to the opening night makes me feel a bit like a celebrity.

I hope lots of people come to see the exhibition.

The exhibition is on 17-24 January, at the Subscription Rooms, Stroud.
